Beijing Tianhong Yuanfang Architectural Design Co., Ltd. is affiliated with Beijing Capital Development Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. It is a new design company registered in November 2000 after the restructuring and renaming of the Beijing Municipal Housing Architectural Design Institute (established in 1979). It is the first architectural design limited liability company in Beijing to be restructured from a state-owned design enterprise into an employee-held one. The company holds Grade A qualification for architectural engineering design, Grade B qualification for landscape architecture, and multiple qualifications for engineering geological survey, engineering supervision, and general engineering contracting. It has nearly 200 management and professional technical personnel, including 10 first-class registered architects, 7 first-class registered structural engineers, and 25 senior architects and senior engineers. The company mainly undertakes tasks such as residential area planning and residential building design, public building design, ancient architecture design, interior and exterior decoration design, landscape design, engineering geological survey, engineering supervision, and general engineering contracting. The company has completed over 2,200 design projects with a total construction area of 11 million square meters, including influential projects such as the Huilongguan Cultural Residential Area, the largest affordable housing project in the country, and the 2008 Beijing Olympic projects—the Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park and the Olympic Village. Among these, more than 80 projects have won provincial or ministerial awards. In addition, the company has successfully cooperated with world-class design firms, such as EDAW from the United States, Peddle Thorp from Australia, Kenzo Tange from Japan, Wong Tung International from Hong Kong, CPG from Singapore, NBBJ from the United States, and B+H from Canada. In recent years, the company has adhered to the design concept of green ecology and sustainable development and has achieved a series of results: in 2000, it carried out green ecological technology cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University; in 2003, it participated in the compilation of the "China Ecological Residential Technology Assessment Manual"; in 2005, it participated in the compilation of the "China Environmental Labeling Ecological Residential Standard"; in 2008, as a member unit of "Action to Promote China's Ecological Residential Construction", it participated in the "2008 Dubai International Forum on Ecological Living and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme Dubai International Award for Best Practices • China Award Ceremony" and received the "2006 UN-Habitat Dubai International Award for Best Practices" issued by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
