西藏城市发展投资股份有限公司是经西藏自治区人民政府以藏政复[1996]14号文批准,由西藏金珠集团有限公司、西藏自治区国际经济技术合作公司、中国出口商品基地建设西藏公司、西藏自治区信托投资公司和西藏自治区包装进出口公司联合发起,对西藏金珠集团有限公司下属的北京西藏北斗星图片总社和西藏自治区对外贸易进出口公司进行部分股份制改组而成立的股份有限公司。
经中国证券监督管理委员会以证监发字[1996]218号文批准,股票已于上海证券交易所上市。
2010年3月17日,西藏自治区工商行政管理局核准下发了企业法人营业执照,公司名称由西藏雅砻藏药股份有限公司变更为西藏城市发展投资股份有限公司。
