中南（上饶）冶金产业研究院有限公司于2017年9月，是一家专注于冶金与环境产业关键与核心技术研发及成果转化的科技研发实体机构。2023年3月，为充分发挥上饶市黑滑石、白云石、钽铌矿等矿产资源优势以及中南大学柴立元院士团队技术与人才优势，在市委市政府的支持下，研究院形成了围绕环境与冶金（矿产资源）技术研发、成果转化、人才培养及产业发展，打造“技术研发与成果转化中心”、“环境监测与检测中心”、“环境损害司法鉴定中心”等三个中心为目标的省内外合作共建高端研发机构。
