China Gas Holdings Limited (abbreviated as: China Gas) is one of the largest cross-regional comprehensive energy supply and service enterprises in China, listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code 00384). Through years of development, China Gas has successfully built a full-format development structure led by pipeline natural gas business, with liquefied petroleum gas, liquefied natural gas, vehicle and vessel gas, distributed energy, natural gas thermal power, contract energy management services, as well as gas equipment, kitchen utensil manufacturing, and online e-commerce developing simultaneously. By the end of 2020, China Gas had more than 60,000 employees, over a thousand subsidiary companies, gas coverage of urban population exceeding 150 million, and its market value ranked among the top 100 global listed companies in Greater China.
Since entering Hubei in 2002, China Gas has invested in 47 project companies in 10 prefecture-level cities including Wuhan, Yichang, Shiyan, Huanggang, Xiaogan, and Suizhou, with cumulative investment of 6.5 billion yuan, serving 2.13 million users, with annual natural gas sales of 1.2 billion cubic meters and annual liquefied petroleum gas sales of 100,000 tons, making it one of the core urban energy service enterprises in Hubei. The four companies invested in Wuhan—Jiangnan Zhongran, Jiangbei Zhongran, Jiangdong Zhongran, and Wumei Baijiang Gas—provide gas supply services for more than 700,000 households (about 2 million people) in Wuhan. During the Wuhan epidemic, they provided stable gas supply services for 700,000 families.
In response to the "Warm in Winter and Cool in Summer" project call proposed by the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, to improve urban production and living quality and realize the people's aspiration for a better life, China Gas specially established Wuhan Zhongran Thermal Power Co., Ltd., planning to invest 22 billion yuan in Wuhan over 35 years to build a people-benefiting warm housing project. This project is a comprehensive solution proposed for promoting centralized heating in non-traditional heating areas in the south, and is a long-term development strategy formulated to solve the "difficulty of southern people getting through winter".
