Hubei Institute of Fine Arts is a higher education institution of fine arts in Central China, featuring multiple disciplines and multiple levels of degree programs. The school traces its origins to the Wuchang School of Fine Arts, founded in 1920, and was later renamed "Private Wuchang College of Art" (abbreviated as Wuchang Art College). As one of the earliest art colleges in China, our school is an important birthplace of modern and contemporary higher art education in China. Over more than 90 years of educational history, it has always upheld the academic spirit of "incorporating diverse elements" and the teaching philosophy of "compatible interaction," cultivating generation after generation of outstanding talents who serve society with the values of "revering virtue, diligent learning, keen action, and pursuing beauty," making unique contributions to the development of China's fine arts cause.
At present, the school has two campuses, Canglong Island and Tanhualin, covering an area of more than 700 mu, with over 8,000 students at various degree levels.
