东安县中医医院始建于1956年，占地面积6000多平方米，医疗用房4643平方米，为政府举办的非盈利性医疗机构，是一所集医疗、教学、科研、保健、康复于一体的二级甲等中医医院。为商业医疗保险、城镇职工医疗保险、城乡居民医疗保险等定点医院及我县的基层医院中医技术培训基地。
医院现有职工175人，(正式在编136人，临聘39人），其中医、护、药、技人员145人，副高职称19人，中级职称46人，核定床位250张、实际开放床位140张。开设门（急）诊科、康复科（针灸科、疼痛康复科门诊）、内科、外科（骨伤科、肛肠科、普外科）、手术室、血透室、麻醉科、健康管理中心（治未病科）、妇科、五官科、口腔科、儿科、膏方室、放射影像科、功能科（超声、心电图）、检验科等临床医技学科。拥有GE16排螺旋CT机，数字胃肠机，DR，全自动生化分析仪，全自动血细胞分析仪，电解质分析仪，尿液分析仪，心电图仪，动态心电图分析系统，心电监护仪，彩超，手术麻醉机，呼吸机等先进设备设施。
医院肛肠科、糖尿病肾病科分别为永州市重点中医专科和永州市特色中医专科，针灸康复科为我院非药物治疗专科。医院为中南大学湘雅二医院、湖南中医药大学*附属医院联盟医院，永州市中心医院、永州市中医医院医联体成员单位及我县的基层医院中医技术培训基地。
