泰康成立于1996年8月22日，董事长陈东升是92派企业家，先后创办嘉德拍卖和宅急送两家企业，后在一次出国学习交流时了解保险在日本美国等发达国家的影响，决定在国内也创办一家保险公司。在经历2003年非典和2008年汶川地震，让董事长意识到买保险，就是为爱尽责，让家无忧，也是尊重生命的方式，再到2010年自己带考察团去美国参观他们当地的太阳城养老社区，见识了社区里的百岁老人充满活力的夕阳无限好模样，让董事长在国内掀起了医养革命，至此，泰康布局十几年，已经在全国规划了36个城市，44个养老社区项目，开业23个园区，入住长辈已经超1.5万人次。泰康已经连续7年入选世界500强企业，公司发展成为一家涵盖保险，资管，医养三大核心业务的大型保险金融服务集团。公司的业务涵盖寿险，车财团意险，口腔医院，康复医院，安宁疗护等。
