国能（福州）热电有限公司（以下简称“福州公司”）成立于2004年4月，由国家能源集团福建能源有限责任公司和北京福润新能源投资有限公司分别按54.75、45.25的股比出资，投资额54.2亿元人民币，总占地1100亩。一期2×600MW超临界全烟气脱硫脱硝燃煤机组分别于2007年7月、10月投产，配套建有十万吨级卸煤码头。2009年7月，福建省发改委将福州公司确认为江阴工业集中区集中供热热源点，2010年实现对外供热，1机组2021年1月13日经福建省工信厅核验为热电联产机组。二期2×660MW超超临界热电联产项目于2015年7月9日正式纳入福建省2015年火电建设规划，目前已取得核准前所有支持性文件。
