大菱鲆是原产于欧洲沿海的一种名贵比目鱼，1992年由黄海水产研究所引进以来，以其特有的高生长速度、优良品质和强抗病害能力逐渐成为我国北方优秀的水产养殖品种和工厂化养殖的主要对象。但由于其繁殖难度大、成活率低、白化率高，制约了大菱鲆工厂化养殖的进一步发展。
