城步永昌福利卫生筷子厂处在湘西南边陲的大山深处，有着丰富的笋竹林资源，本厂成立于2006年6月18日，是湖南城步残疾人联合会协助创办的安排残疾人就业和帮助那些生活不能自理的残疾人的企业。总投资152万元人民币，占地面积6838平方米，厂房面积3240平米，现有生产线22条，员工183人，都是一些聪明能干、心灵手巧、能吃苦耐劳的有志残疾青年。
本厂主要生产双生筷、天削筷、元禄筷、竹园筷等一次性卫生竹筷，各种包装筷、竹签、机制竹木碳、竹地板、竹砧板、原生木碳等其他竹木制品。
