柳州特种汽车厂（原名柳州冶金汽车修配厂、又名柳州有色冶金机械厂）一九六九年底筹建，一九七二年投产，一九七五年扩建。原建厂宗旨以大修汽车为主，设计能力为年大修汽车300辆，扩建后为450辆。一九七九年转产，当年12月试制成功*台八吨液压汽车起重机，一九八二年起推出自卸汽车和铝厂专用车系列产品。一九八九年三月加入解放汽车工业集团公司（松散型），一九九四年三月廿九日经国家国有资产管理局批准，全部产权并入中国*汽车集团公司，成为一汽集团全资子公司及卡车生产三大基地之一。
