China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. is a large comprehensive construction enterprise with a glorious history and profound culture. Its predecessor was the Third Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways, established in 1952, and it was restructured into China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. on November 28, 2000, under China Railway Group Limited.

The company has 14 subsidiaries, 4 branches, and 16 offices (liaison offices), with a total of over 28,000 employees, including 12,867 management personnel, 10,902 professional and technical personnel, and 776 senior technical management talents. As of June 2008, the company owned 5,742 sets of various advanced mechanical equipment, with an original value of 2.987 billion yuan and a net value of 2.178 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of over 20 billion yuan.

As one of the first batch of general construction contracting enterprises in China, the company holds the special qualification for general contracting of railway engineering construction, as well as first-class qualifications for general contracting of highway engineering, building engineering, and municipal engineering. It is mainly engaged in the construction and survey and design of civil engineering projects such as new (reconstructed, extended) railways, electrified railways, temporary operation management, highways, bridges, tunnels, municipal works, urban light rail, subways, and industrial and civil buildings.

Since its establishment in 1952, the company has adhered to the corporate mission of "committing to infrastructure construction and promoting social prosperity," opening roads through mountains, building bridges across waters, creating high-quality products, and beautifying the landscape. It has successively operated in over 20 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions across the country and countries and regions such as Algeria, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Malaysia. It has participated in the construction of major railway trunk lines, existing line renovations, and additional second-line projects such as Jingqin, Daqin, Jingjiu, Shenshuo, Shuohuang, Neikun, Fuzhou-Xiamen, Qinghai-Tibet, Yichang-Wanzhou, Taiyuan-Zhongwei-Yinchuan, Zhanjiang-Kunming, Hainan East Ring, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Fourth Line, Wuxiang, Luozhan, Qiangui, Longhai, Jiaoji, Shitai, Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Zhuzhou-Liuyang, and Baoji-Lanzhou railways; passenger dedicated lines such as Qinshen, Hefei-Nanjing, Zhengzhou-Xi'an, Wuhan-Guangzhou, Shitai, and Jiaoji; urban subways and urban rail transit projects in Beijing, Shenyang, Chongqing, Xi'an, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Suzhou, Zhengzhou, and Nanjing; and highway and first/second-class road projects such as Jingzhu, Jingshi, Jingfu, Qingyin, Tong-San, Kunshi, Chongzun, Huning, Taijin, Sanming, Longchang, Guiwu, Shenda, Taijiu, Huangyan, and Chengdu Ring Road. It has also undertaken a series of domestic and international engineering project constructions, including the Ethiopia Adi Abo Adwa-Adigrat Highway Upgrading Project, Nigeria PAPALANTO Power Plant Civil Works Project, Iran Tehran Northern Highway Project, Katsina State University Project, and Comoros Moroni Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport Project. In addition, it has participated in the operation of upstream construction industry projects such as the Linhe-Ceke Railway, Beijing Subway Olympic Branch Line BT Project, and investment and development of the Inner Mongolia Wuchuan Gold Mine, accumulating rich construction and management experience.
