钦州学院物理与材料科学学院，创建于 1973 年。自创办以来，历经 36 个春秋，师资力量不断充实，办学规模不断发展壮大，培养了大批合格教师和建设人才，其中不少毕业生已成为教学骨干，有的被评为劳动模范、优秀教师、科技拨尖人才、有突出贡献的中青年专家，有些毕业生担任了学校领导和地方党、政领导职务，为地方教育、经济、社会发展作出了积极的贡献。
