天鸿集团是以天鸿集团公司为核心、以房地产开发为主业的大型企业集团，始建于1983年，前身是“北京市房地产管理局住宅建设经营公司”。1989年，公司更名为“北京市房地产开发经营公司”。1990年12月，公司升级为“国家二级企业”，取得“城市综合开发资质一级”、“城市建设开发资信一等”企业资质。1992年，公司更名为“北京市房地产开发经营总公司”，名列北京市首次评选的经济百强开发类企业之首。到九十年代中期，随着经营规模的不断扩大，总公司下属企业数量的不断增多，企业集团初步形成。1999年，总公司实施品牌战略，再次更名为“天鸿集团公司”，天鸿集团随之而成。
