Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a city-owned state-controlled listed company with nearly a century of pharmaceutical history. It was founded in Shanghai in 1929, originally named Shanghai Foci Pharmaceutical Factory Co., Ltd. In 1956, it relocated entirely from Shanghai to Lanzhou and was renamed 'Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory.' In June 2000, Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Factory, together with six other enterprises, initiated the establishment of Lanzhou Foci Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. As of now, the company has a total share capital of 88.858 million shares, of which state-owned shares account for 64.988 million, legal person shares for 1.65 million, and public shares for 22.22 million. Today, the company has developed into a backbone enterprise in the pharmaceutical industry in Northwest China, integrating the cultivation and processing of Chinese herbal medicines, research and development of natural drugs, production and sales of modern dosage forms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and comprehensive health products. The company has four production bases: the Foci headquarters plant area, Anning pharmaceutical packaging materials branch, Gaolan bottle manufacturing branch, and Pingliang Kongtong branch, as well as one under-construction Lanzhou New District Pharmaceutical Technology Industrial Park. It has two subsidiaries, namely Gansu Foci Chinese Herbal Medicine Operation Co., Ltd. and Lanzhou Foci Health Industry Co., Ltd., covering a total area of over 700 mu (approximately 46.7 hectares). It has total assets of 807.39 million yuan and net assets of 680.48 million yuan. The company currently employs over 1,400 staff, including more than 400 engineering and technical personnel. It operates 25 production lines and possesses a range of advanced domestic and international production equipment and testing instruments. It holds 345 drug production approval numbers and produces 152 Chinese and Western medicine products in 11 dosage forms, including concentrated pills, large honeyed pills, and tablets. Foci products are renowned both at home and abroad for 'authentic material selection, superior craftsmanship, reliable efficacy, and convenient administration.' The 'Foci' brand series products, such as Liuwei Dihuang Pills, Qiju Dihuang Pills, Guifu Dihuang Pills, Xiaoyao Pills, Xiangsha Yangwei Pills, and Shenrong Guben Huanshao Pills, are honored as 'Gansu quality products.' The company's product line is continuously expanding, with comprehensive health products such as donkey-hide gelatin (Ejiao) and the herbal beverage 'Xiao Zhuli' successively launching to market. The 'Foci' registered trademark is a China Well-Known Trademark. 'Baolu,' 'Minshan,' and 'Shanshu' are Gansu Province famous trademarks. All production bases have passed national GMP certification, and the headquarters' production base has also passed the TGA GMP certification of Australia, the GMP certification of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the quality system certification of the Ukrainian Standards Authority. The company has established solid cooperative relationships with dozens of leading domestic and international research institutions, including Tsinghua University, the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Stockholm University in Sweden. It possesses local Chinese herbal medicine planting bases for Angelica sinensis, Codonopsis pilosula, Bupleurum chinense, and other medicinal materials in areas such as Zhangxian and Yuzhong, with a total planting area exceeding 10,000 mu (approximately 666.7 hectares). It has an increasingly comprehensive domestic and international sales network, with products distributed nationwide and exported to 27 countries and regions, including the United States, Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong. In recent years, especially since the company's listing, all its undertakings have flourished, key economic indicators have continued to grow, operational efficiency has improved year by year, state-owned assets have appreciated substantially, and the overall strength has been significantly enhanced. In 2006, it was again recognized by the Ministry of Commerce as one of the first batch of 'China Time-honored Brands' enterprises; in 2008, it ranked among the top 100 Chinese proprietary Chinese medicine manufacturers; in 2009, it was awarded the 'Gansu Province May Day Labor Award'; in October 2010, the 'Foci' registered trademark was recognized as a China Well-Known Trademark by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce; in March 2011, Foci Pharmaceutical was rated as a 'National Torch Plan Key High-Tech Enterprise' by the Ministry of Science and Technology; in 2011, it became the supporting unit for the construction of the Gansu Province Modern Chinese Medicine Preparation Engineering Technology Research Center; in December 2011, Foci Pharmaceutical successfully achieved its initial public offering; in February 2012, it received the 'Governor's Financial Award.' In May 2013, the China-Sweden Natural Plant and Health Products Research Center was established.
