Chongqing Lifan Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lifan Holdings Co., Ltd., specializing in the marketing of Lifan passenger vehicle series models.
Lifan Holdings Co., Ltd. is a large private enterprise integrating scientific research and development, engine, general machinery, motorcycle and complete automobile production and sales as its main business, and also combining financial securities and real estate. At present, the company has more than 15,800 employees. Lifan has been selected as one of China's Top 500 Enterprises for ten times, and has been Chongqing's top exporter for many consecutive years. On November 25, 2010, its holding subsidiary Lifan Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with stock code 601777, with an initial public offering of 200 million shares and raising 2.9 billion yuan, making it China's first A-share listed private passenger vehicle enterprise.
The passenger vehicle project is located in the Automobile Park of Chongqing Northern New District, with a total planned land area of 700 mu and a first-phase construction of 300 mu. Lifan plans to invest here to build an annual output of 150,000 sedans, and in accordance with the requirements of the "Automobile Industry Development Policy", establish an automobile production base and automobile research institute with an annual capacity of 200,000 automobile engines. The Lifan sedan project has a total investment of 2.4 billion yuan in three phases. At present, the first-phase project has been completed (all invested with self-owned funds), and four major production lines for stamping, welding, painting and final assembly have been built.
In response to the national initiative to upgrade from "Made in China" to "Created in China", Lifan Sedan adheres to the path of independent research and development. Product development mainly adopts joint development and technology purchase methods, and obtains independent intellectual property rights through obtaining technology ownership, creating core strategic resources for Lifan's automobile business to cross industrial competition barriers and achieve sustainable development, thereby gaining broad development space. In the process of independent development, Lifan also attaches great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights. Up to now, Lifan Sedan has been granted 191 patents.
In order to effectively implement the independent research and development strategy, Lifan Automobile adopts innovative methods to form a research and development team, integrating technical resources from around the world and introducing senior talents from the international automobile industry. At the same time, it has introduced hundreds of people from major domestic automobile manufacturers to build a research and development team.
Lifan Automobile insists on taking the path of independent intellectual property rights and has developed a number of new sedans, which plays a positive role in promoting the establishment of a national brand image for sedans and entering the international automobile market, and can provide automobile consumers with a broader space for consumption choices. At present, the basic products LF520, LF520i, LF620, LF320, and LFX60 have been launched. In China, more than 300 dealerships have been selling them, and their main products have been exported to Russia, Syria, Egypt, Vietnam, Argentina and many other countries. In the following years, new products of various models and uses will be launched successively.
