贵州省交通建设工程检测中心隶属于贵州省交通科学研究院，贵州省交通科学研究院是我省交通行业*的综合性研究开发科技服务机构。是首批进入全国科技体制改革的试点单位之一，为了实施“科教兴黔、开发带动和持续发展”的战略构想，适应贵州公路建设和发展的需要，交通科研院定位为交通科学研究、交通建设工程检测、技术开发、质量监督检验、信息技术咨询、服务。目前承担着全省公路战线的监理、检测、环评、交通器具检定、桥梁设计、信息资源开发等任务；具有较强的交通科学研究和技术开发实力。
