Triangle Tire Co., Ltd. was established in 2001, with its predecessor being Shandong Tire Factory founded in 1976. It is currently a leading enterprise in China's tire industry, with business scope covering commercial vehicle tires, passenger vehicle tires, engineering radial tires and giant tires, specialty tires, etc., with an annual production capacity of 25 million sets.
The company has a national-level technology development center, postdoctoral research workstation, and Akron R&D center in the United States. It undertakes the construction of the national engineering laboratory in the tire industry and is the main body of the China Tire Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. The company is a national high-tech enterprise, a leader in China's radial tire technology, holds the largest number of domestic and foreign patent technologies among domestic peers, and is also a major drafter of national and industry standards.
In 2008, the company's project "Complete Production Technology and Equipment Development for Giant Engineering Radial Tires" won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. This is the highest technology award received in China's tire industry since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Currently, Triangle has become one of the world's top four suppliers of engineering radial tires and giant tires.
