Jiangmen Umicore Changxin New Materials Co., Ltd. was established in 2006 as a joint venture between Belgium's Umicore Group (holding 90% shares) and Jiangmen Changshun Industrial Co., Ltd. (holding 10% shares), and is affiliated with the Rechargeable Battery Materials division of the Umicore Group. The company is located in Lile Town, Jiangmen City, with more than 500 employees, producing high-performance lithium-ion battery cathode materials and their precursors, mainly used in lithium-ion batteries for green new energy electric vehicles, committed to improving the energy density and safety performance of lithium-ion batteries while reducing the cost of electric vehicles. In February 2017, the Umicore Group's new energy vehicle materials project held a signing ceremony for a major industrial project investment agreement in Jiangmen High-tech Zone (Jianghai District), Guangdong, and was successfully signed and settled. The new investment project is located in Jiangmen High-tech Zone (Jianghai District), covering a total area of 500 mu, with production scope covering lithium battery cathode materials, their required precursors, and supporting nickel-cobalt. This key project has been placed with high hopes and great attention by the Jiangmen Municipal Government, and is a strategic emerging industry with huge potential.
