和平县人民医院始建于 1935 年，前身为和平县救济院，解放后更名和平县人民政府卫生院，1956 年定现名。1996 年获评国家二级甲等医院，2017 年通过复审；2013 年 10 月完成整体搬迁，2019 年成为首批达到国家县级综合服务能力推荐标准的县级医院之一，2021 年通过国家胸痛中心认证。2017 年起作为和平县紧密型县域医共体牵头医院，联动县中医院、妇保院及17间乡镇卫生院、251个村卫生站构建医共体，2021 年获评省医共体建设示范医院，2023 年成为医共体高质量发展综合试验区。医院占地约 6.3 万平方米，建筑面积近 7 万平方米，开放床位 500 张；现有员工 791 人，其中医疗卫生专业人员 689 人，具备高级职称 120 人、中级职称 248 人。
