中国人民解放军456医院始建于五十年代，是人民空军的一所集医疗、保健、预防、教学、科研、体检于一体的大型综合性三级甲等医院，是山东大学、第四军医大学的教学医院，省市医疗保险定点、新型农村合作医疗定点、城镇居民医疗保险定点医院，是山东省济南重要保健基地之一。医院主要担负医疗保健任务，同时负责医疗保障工作，承担疑难病的诊治。此外，医院也收治来自全国的地方病人，是济南市110、120、122社会联动先进单位，山东省“助老扶残”工程共建单位。
