Shanghai PRET Composites Co., Ltd. was founded in 1993 and is a high-tech enterprise in Shanghai. The company has established a post-doctoral research workstation and a Shanghai academician expert workstation, and currently holds more than 130 invention patents. The company focuses on polymer materials, mainly engaged in the R&D, production, sales, and service of automotive modified plastic products. On December 18, 2009, the company was listed on the Shenzhen SME Board with stock code 002324. After listing, the company invested in the construction of three wholly-owned subsidiaries: Shanghai PRET Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd. (mainly producing liquid crystal polymer materials LCP), Zhejiang PRET New Materials Co., Ltd., and Chongqing PRET New Materials Co., Ltd., located in Jinshan District, Shanghai; Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province; and Tongliang County, Chongqing, respectively. In January 2015, the company successfully acquired all equity of WPR Holdings LLC and its subsidiaries Wellman Plastics Recycling LLC and D.C. Foam Recycle Incorporated in the United States, marking the beginning of its internationalization and globalization journey. After two years of integration, the company established an overseas business platform, rapidly entered the North American market, broadened the international vision of its management, and laid the foundation for promoting the company's strategic layout globally and further expanding its global business. Currently, the company's total global production capacity of modified materials reaches 550,000 tons, with 450,000 tons in China and 100,000 tons in the United States. The company's products are mainly supplied to automotive parts manufacturers, and it has established close business relationships with many well-known domestic and international automobile manufacturers such as BMW, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, and Ford. It has also become an important partner of many multinational corporations including Ford and GM in the United States.
