Sinoma Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Sinoma Science & Technology" or "the Company") is a joint-stock company approved by the former State Economic and Trade Commission, with the former Sinoma Group as the main initiator, registered and established in December 2001 at the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. It is now affiliated with China National Building Material Group.
Sinoma Science & Technology is a national high-tech enterprise in the field of special fiber composite materials in China, integrating R&D, design, product manufacturing and sales, and technical equipment integration. The company was listed on the capital market through an IPO in 2006, conducted a non-public issuance in 2010, and in 2016 completed a major asset restructuring with supporting fund raising, leveraging the capital market to achieve three "five-year leapfrog developments." As of the end of 2020, total assets reached 33.7 billion yuan, with operating revenue of 18.7 billion yuan and net profit of 2.05 billion yuan in that year. The company has a total of 17,000 employees and owns 35 wholly-owned or controlled subsidiaries, including 3 overseas institutions.
Sinoma Science & Technology inherits the core technological resources and talent advantages of more than sixty years from three important domestic research institutes: the former Nanjing Glass Fiber Research and Design Institute, Beijing FRP Research and Design Institute, and Suzhou Non-metallic Mineral Industry Design and Research Institute. It possesses a complete technology industry chain for non-metallic mineral materials, glass fiber, and fiber composite materials, leading the industry's technological R&D in glass fiber and composite materials, and holds leading scientific research strength in China's building materials and inorganic non-metallic new materials field. It has 2,185 scientific R&D and engineering technical personnel, 3 key domestic research and design institutes, 913 valid patents, 4 national industry quality inspection centers, 1 national key laboratory and engineering (technology) research center, 4 national standardization technical committees, 2 first prizes and 6 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
Over the past two decades, Sinoma Science & Technology has concentrated advantageous resources to develop industries through incubation, cultivation, mergers, and restructuring, gradually forming three leading industries: wind turbine blades, glass fiber, and lithium battery separators.
Sinoma Blade, a subsidiary established in 2007, has built 7 factories nationwide with an annual production capacity of 10 million kW for wind turbine blades. Its capacity scale, profitability, and domestic market share have ranked among the top of the industry for ten consecutive years. Globally, it has installed a total of 29,000 units with a cumulative installed capacity exceeding 58.9 GW, covering 23 countries including China, the United States, and Germany.
Taishan Fiberglass, a subsidiary, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company in 2016 through a major asset restructuring. Its total production capacity for glass fiber and related products has reached 1 million tons per year, ranking among the top three globally and one of China's outstanding glass fiber manufacturers. It is one of the first batch of intelligent manufacturing pilot enterprises designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with products exported to more than 70 countries and regions including North America, the Middle East, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Central and South America.
Lithium battery separators are a leading industry that the company has focused on cultivating in recent years, mainly applied to power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles and high-end consumer lithium batteries. The company's lithium separator production capacity is 960 million square meters, with capacity and sales ranking among the top three domestically, preliminarily establishing a foundation for high-quality development.
As a pioneer in the building materials industry in China for "going global" and participating in the "Belt and Road" initiative, Sinoma Science & Technology has invested in the construction of an AGM separator industrial base in Vietnam, with products covering more than 20 countries including the United States, Germany, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan, and is steadily advancing toward the center of the world's building materials stage.
