Shanghai Tianhao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded in April 2008 in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Pudong, Shanghai. It is affiliated with Tianhao Gene Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., and Tianhao Gene currently has subsidiaries in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Chongqing. Tianhao Biotechnology alone currently employs nearly 150 staff members and has 2,500 square meters of office and laboratory space, establishing a comprehensive laboratory management system and standard procedures. The main goal is to build a standardized multi-level molecular biology research and analysis platform of international first-class standards, providing precise and efficient gene detection and analysis services to domestic and international gene biology research institutions, medical colleges, and biopharmaceutical companies.
In March 2018, Tianhao Biotechnology was awarded the title of "Pudong New Area Enterprise R&D Institution".
Since its establishment, we have built and refined multiple molecular biology analysis and research platforms, including ABI 3130xl and ABI 3730xl sequencers, real-time quantitative PCR instruments, Illumina GAIIx, Illumina Miseq, Illumina NextSeq second-generation sequencing platforms, and cell biology analysis platforms. We have successively carried out services such as disease gene mapping, gene mutation and polymorphism sequencing analysis, various throughput SNP genotyping analysis, gene transcription level analysis, methylation level analysis, and also utilized world-leading second-generation sequencing technology to provide mature research analysis services including whole genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing, targeted region enrichment sequencing, whole transcriptome sequencing, targeted region methylation sequencing, 16S/18S/ITS amplicon sequencing, metagenome sequencing, mitochondrial & chloroplast genome sequencing, and single bacterial genome sequencing. In addition, while providing high-quality technical services, Shanghai Tianhao actively focuses on independent innovation and has independently developed internationally advanced patented technologies such as AccuCopy® multiplex DNA copy number detection technology, CNVplex® high-throughput DNA copy number detection technology, SNPscan® high-throughput SNP genotyping methods, and has continuously developed numerous new gene analysis technologies using second-generation sequencing, such as EasyTarget® high-throughput targeted region enrichment sequencing technology with multiple strategies, SNPseq® ultra-high-throughput SNP genotyping technology, MethylTarget® multiplex targeted region methylation enrichment sequencing technology, and CNVseq® ultra-high-throughput DNA copy number detection technology. As of the end of February 2018, the company has submitted 4 PCT patents, 32 domestic invention patents (11 entered substantive examination, 12 were granted), 4 utility model patents (4 granted), 13 software copyrights (13 granted), and 1 PCT patent entered the United States, European Union, and Japan in March 2015. One PCT patent was granted in the Chinese national phase. We have applied for 48 trademark copyrights, and 35 trademarks have been granted. Currently, Tianhao has formed a research service system covering more than 100 categories in human medical genetics, animal and plant, and microbial fields, involving molecular biology, genomics, and genetics. To date, we have provided over 7,500 scientific research technical services to nearly 700 domestic and international research institutions, medical units, and biotechnology companies, assisting clients in publishing 481 papers with a cumulative impact factor of 1691.
