天津大港发电厂位于天津市滨海新区（大港），总装机容量1314兆瓦。一期工程于1974年12月动工,共安装两台328.5MW意大利燃油发电机组（1、2号）。2001.10，一期机组进行了大规模燃煤改造，工程被列为国家重点技术改造项目，于2005年5月全部竣工投产。二期工程于1988年动工，是国家“七五”工程重点项目。全厂四台机组冷却用水全部采用海水。
建厂30多年来，大港电厂以技术创新、管理创新带动企业发展，努力瞄准国内外先进水平不断前进。3、4号发电机组多次在全国300MW大机组的综合竞赛评比中获得优胜奖，企业还多年保持了天津市“文明单位”、神华国能公司“文明单位”等荣誉。
