楠竹山镇卫生院地处湘潭市雨湖区楠竹山镇中心区域，始建于1974年，规模和实力都相当于一般县级医院的综合性医院。
卫生院现有病床55张，医务人员42人；设有内、外、儿、妇产、骨伤、五官、口腔、按摩、预防保健等科室，拥有B超、心电图、X线机、生化分析仪、高频电刀、电子膀胱镜、麻醉呼吸机、心电监护仪、母婴监护仪、新生儿恒温箱等，及成套口腔科及五官科检查设备，担负着全镇3万余人口及周边农村地区的10多万群众的医疗卫生、防疫计免、妇幼保健、计划生育等工作。
卫生院是湘潭市城镇职工医保定点单位，雨湖区城镇职工医保定点单位，湘潭县新型农村合作医疗定点单位，人寿保险认可医疗单位。
