中山火炬城建开发有限公司受开发区管委会委托，采用社会化、产业化方式运作，实行企业特许经营。日前已注册成立的“中山火炬水务有限公司”负责污水处理厂的建设、运营。中山火炬开发区大环污水处理厂地处逸仙路与环茂公路交界处，用地面积为48亩，总规划建设规模为15.5万吨/日，分叁期建设，其中首期建设规模为5.0万吨/日，采用微曝氧化沟处理工艺，计划2008年3月建成投产试运行。
