Midas Holdings Limited was established in 2000, and was listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange in 2004 and secondarily listed on the Mainboard of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2010. Currently, it is a leading manufacturer of aluminum alloy extruded profiles for China's passenger rail transportation industry.
Over the years, Midas has established a strong track record of supplying to China's passenger rail transportation industry, including landmark contracts such as the supply of trains for the Beijing-Tianjin High-Speed Railway Project and the supply of intercity high-speed trains for the CRH3-380 project. Midas's customers include licensed domestic train manufacturers such as CSR Corporation Limited and CNR Corporation Limited, as well as international clients such as Alstom Transport, Siemens AG, and Bombardier Transportation. It is the only specialized large-scale manufacturer in China capable of researching, developing, and producing structural profiles for complete vehicles of high-speed trains, subways, maglev trains, light rail, and specialized railway freight cars, with more than 2,000 types of product sections.
Invited by the Henan Provincial Government and Luoyang Municipal Government, Midas Aluminum settled in Luoyang in April 2011. The plant site is located at No. 8 Yiluo Avenue, Yiluo Industrial Park, Luoyang City, with a registered capital of RMB 200 million and covers an area of 583 mu. The company's planned production capacity includes 50,000 tons of extruded aluminum profiles annually, comprising 20,000 tons per year of rolling stock profiles, 10,000 tons per year of industrial tubes and bars (Phase II), 20,000 tons per year of automotive profiles (Phase II), and 1,000 sets of large components for railway vehicles. Phase I construction investment amounts to RMB 1.462 billion, expected to generate annual profits and taxes of RMB 300 million. The first production line is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2012.
