天津市地热勘察开发设计院于1989年成立，隶属于天津市地质矿产局。主要承担矿产地质调查、勘察、水文地质勘察、环境地质勘察、地质勘探工程，地球物理与地球化学勘察及地质测绘等。近二十年来，重点进行了天津市地热勘察、开发、设计与利用工作，目前已发展为集科研与施工为一体的地热勘察、开发、设计与利用的综合性队伍。
