德阳市第二人民医院始建于1958年，前身为“中国二重”职工医院，2003年移交德阳市人民政府。2018年，医院被市政府确定为德阳市两个城市医疗集团龙头医院之一，并正式挂牌成为四川省护理职业学院的附属医院。医院是集医、教、研为一体的国家三级乙等综合医院，国家爱婴医院，四川省首批全科医学临床培训基地，全省首批“数字化医院”，西南医科大学等多家医学院校教学医院。医院荣获四川省卫生先进单位，德阳市首家园林式医院，全市首批“健康医院”示范点和践行社会主义核心价值观示范单位等荣誉。
