China Dongfang Electric Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Dongfang Electric Group) was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan. It has provided approximately one-third of China's energy equipment and is one of the world's largest energy equipment manufacturing enterprise groups. In December 2024, Dongfang Electric Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Beijing, focusing on the development of Xinjiang's new energy industry and strategic emerging industries, deepening central-local mutual cooperation, jointly safeguarding national energy security, and promoting high-quality regional development. Xinjiang Dongfang Wind Power New Energy Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Wind Power Industry. It has established and successively put into operation wind turbine blade and main engine manufacturing bases in Mulei County, Ruoqiang County, Burqin County of Xinjiang, and Golmud City of Qinghai (under construction). In 2024, the company achieved an output value of 1.6 billion yuan, and in 2025, it is expected to achieve an output value of over 4 billion yuan, creating more than 2,000 jobs. In 2023, the company was awarded the Changji Prefecture May Day Labor Certificate, and in 2024, it was awarded the autonomous region's "Xinjiang Development and Construction Award".
