China International Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (Chinese abbreviation "Zhong Neng Yuan", English abbreviation CIEC) was registered with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce in 1988 upon approval by the State Council. China International Energy Holding Co., Ltd., as one of the first batch of central enterprise shareholding system reform enterprises in China, has a registered capital of RMB 6 billion. It comprises seven major business groups covering mining, energy, engineering construction, finance, technology, health and elderly care, cultural tourism, etc. The company's four main business directions are mineral and energy investment and mineral product trade, energy conservation and emission reduction, comprehensive land development and engineering construction. It focuses on global investment and mergers and acquisitions in mineral and new energy; energy conservation and emission reduction in industrial, civil, and construction fields; and urban-rural land consolidation and development as well as urban infrastructure construction. Given the global trend of decreasing energy and mineral resources, CIEC targets domestic and international mineral energy, formulating a development strategy integrating mineral energy project investment, product development and production, and trade and comprehensive services, and conducting resource integration through mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring in industries such as electric power, natural gas, and new energy. By 2010, it had invested in fifteen mineral types abroad, including gold, iron, coal, uranium, and molybdenum, with fifty-seven medium and large ore bodies; and invested in nine mineral types in five domestic provinces, including coal, iron, gold, copper, rare earth, and lithium, with twenty-six medium and large ore bodies, with cumulative total investment exceeding RMB 30 billion and total mineral value exceeding RMB 300 billion. In 2010 alone, the company's domestic and international trade volume of mineral products approached RMB 10 billion. In response to national calls, CIEC is committed to contributing more to the country and its people in energy conservation and emission reduction, investing substantial funds and integrating advantageous resources. For governments at all levels, it focuses on providing solutions, engineering services, and operation management services for energy conservation and emission reduction in urban construction (saving energy, reducing energy consumption, and reducing pollution emissions). It also provides state-owned and private large high-energy-consuming enterprises with overall solutions for energy saving, emission reduction, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement, along with related technologies and equipment, and ensures good engineering services, operation management, and after-sales services. To date, it has completed nearly one hundred projects in over ten domestic cities, with cumulative investment exceeding RMB 20 billion, saving approximately 6 billion kWh of electricity and reducing over 20 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. As an urban operator, CIEC primarily cooperates with governments at all levels in overall urban development planning, overall project development and construction, and participation in comprehensive urban and rural land consolidation. In 2010 alone, CIEC invested in one national demonstration project and five provincial key projects. CIEC invests in infrastructure across multiple cities in China, involving engineering construction, decoration and renovation, landscaping, pipeline engineering, water conservancy engineering, etc. In 2010 alone, it signed new engineering contracts exceeding RMB 6 billion and completed a turnover of over RMB 3 billion.
