China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, established in 1980, is a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH). It is a comprehensive engineering contracting service enterprise whose main businesses include engineering general contracting, capital-operating projects, trade, and services. Its business fields cover metallurgy, mining, transportation, building materials, electric power, water conservancy, environmental protection, chemical industry, bio-energy, agricultural product storage and processing, and other industries.
The company has obtained the qualification for foreign engineering contracting business approved by the Ministry of Commerce, and the national Class A certificate for equipment supervision units. It has established quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems, and has obtained ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 certifications. Approved by the Ministry of Commerce, it has set up overseas representative offices in 12 countries, including Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya, and Guinea.
Over the past 30-plus years since its establishment, the company has undertaken a large number of large-scale complete sets of projects representing the national level of major technical equipment, such as the Phase II and Phase III projects of Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation, the Yuanbaoshan open-pit coal mine project in Inner Mongolia, the Qinhuangdao Phase III coal terminal project, and the Guangzhou Port Xinsha coal and ore terminal projects. It has also undertaken overseas EPC general contracting and BOT investment projects, including the stamping production lines for General Motors' plants in Thailand and the UK, the sugarcane sugar refinery, the Thanlwin (Mawlamyine) Bridge, the open-pit coal mine, and the coal-fired power plant in Myanmar, the Xinguang cement plant and hydropower stations in Vietnam, the Dapei hydropower station and Phnom Penh loop power transmission and transformation project and rural power grid expansion project in Cambodia, and the new steam boiler project in Turkey. The company has provided professional services to more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. Completed projects have been widely recognized and praised by clients in the host countries, and have won various awards from domestic and international authoritative institutions on multiple occasions.
