西北大学出版社成立于1983年6月，是主要从事高等教育教材、学术专着和其他一般图书编辑、出版和发行的大学出版社，由陕西省教育厅主管，西北大学主办。建社来始终坚持为高等教育的教学科研和地方经济建设服务的办社宗旨，“以教材、学术专着立社、强社”的办社思路，大力出版统编和规划高等教育教材。年出书420余种，重印、再版的高等教育教材在60%以上，所出图书产生了较好的社会效益，并有一批图书获得了国家有关部门的奖励。
