Guangdong Yuewei Edible Fungi Technology Co., Ltd. is a limited liability company with independent legal personality, established in 1998, with the Edible Fungi Research and Development Center of Guangdong Institute of Microbiology as its technical support. It is a national high-tech enterprise integrating scientific research, production, and sales, specializing in the efficacy research of edible (medicinal) fungi, extraction and separation of active ingredients, development of new functional products (including health foods, healthy foods, high-end cosmetics, etc.), and breeding of superior new strains and promotion of modern cultivation techniques.
The company was approved as a high-tech enterprise in Guangdong Province in 2005, passed the GMP certification for health foods in 2009, was approved as a national high-tech enterprise in 2008, and in December of the same year was approved as an international science and technology cooperation base. In 2013, it was awarded the Guangzhou Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, and in August of the same year was awarded the Postdoctoral Research Workstation by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
At present, it has built experimental instrument platforms of tens of millions of yuan level for active ingredient analysis and testing, molecular biology, molecular pharmacology, and skin activity testing, and is equipped with basic facilities such as animal rooms, cell rooms, fermentation pilot workshops, factory cultivation test workshops, and strain resource banks. The related instruments and equipment are fully matched, and multiple pilot production lines for extracts and preparation products have been built.
Over the years, the company has undertaken more than 50 science and technology projects, including the National Innovation Fund Project, the National Agricultural Achievements Transformation Fund Project, the National High-tech Industrialization Project, provincial science and technology plan projects, provincial SME innovation fund, provincial hundred projects, key provincial and municipal research projects, and innovation and entrepreneurship talent projects. It has won multiple awards at the provincial and municipal levels, applied for and obtained more than 60 international and national patents, obtained more than 40 national invention patent authorizations, and published more than 70 papers at home and abroad. In 2004, it won the First Prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award; in 2007, it won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award; in 2009, it won the Guangdong Province Outstanding Patent Award; in 2010, it won the Second Prize of Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award; in 2013, it won the First Prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award.
