Shanghai Xuanquan Design focuses on the field of landscape planning and design, pursuing ultimate small beauty and advocating inaction landscape. It excels in combining rigorous scientific analysis with traditional I Ching and Feng Shui, and emphasizes a design philosophy of genuine humanized details, thoughtfully integrating into the natural environment.
The company was co-founded by Lin Xuanquan, a 2010 Shanghai role model and chief designer of the public space of the Shanghai World Expo, and Liu Yueqin, a PhD from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and a research scholar at the University of Massachusetts, USA. It integrates landscape architecture, architecture, and industrial design, with urban open public space design as its core and personalized systematic urban furniture design as its specialty.
The Xuanquan team has completed over 100 planning and design projects in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, and other places, won more than 20 first places in international and domestic competitions, holds over 10 independent intellectual property rights, published over 50 papers and works in journals such as architecture, gardening, and landscape, and received over 40 media reports. Its design works have won more than 10 awards in various fields. It is the overall design team for the Shanghai World Expo site, Lujiazui Financial City public space, Shanghai Zhangjiabang Wedge-shaped Green Space, and the external environment of the Shanghai Tower, and is one of the TOP 50 landscape design institutions in 2013.

Introduction to the Xuanquan Design Team
In 2005, after resigning from the School of Civil Engineering of Northeast Forestry University, Lin Xuanquan founded the "Xuanquan Urban Space Design Institute" at the Shanghai Pudong Architectural Design and Research Institute. In 2011, he co-founded "Shanghai Xuanquan Architecture Landscape Planning Design Co., Ltd." with Liu Yueqin, a PhD from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and a research scholar at the University of Massachusetts, USA. The design pursues "ultimate small beauty" and advocates "inaction landscape." It excels in combining rigorous scientific analysis with traditional I Ching and Feng Shui, and emphasizes a design philosophy of genuine humanized details, thoughtfully integrating into the natural environment.
Xuanquan Design integrates landscape architecture, architecture, and industrial design, with the design of urban open public spaces such as convention centers, CBDs, waterfronts, squares, and parks as its core, and personalized systematic urban furniture design as its specialty.
It has led and created over 100 planning and design projects, of which more than 20 international and domestic competitions achieved first place. It has published and co-edited 3 monographs and special issues on the Shanghai World Expo. It has published over 40 papers and works in journals such as "Architectural Journal," "Chinese Landscape Architecture," "Architectural Technology," "Landscape Design," "Chinese and Foreign Landscape," and "Lighting," and has been invited to give academic reports at conferences such as the "China Contemporary Architectural Creation Forum" and the "Expo Green Practice Forum." Major planning and design projects have been reported on more than 40 times by over 10 media outlets, including "The Bund," "Xinmin Evening News," "Life Weekly," "Building Times," "Chinese and Foreign Architecture," "Oriental Morning Post," and "News Evening News." The planning and design works have won more than 10 awards in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and landscape in Shanghai and across the country.
Among the 5 items led and created in recent years, including the public space design of the Shanghai World Expo site, landscape design of expo pavilions and supporting facilities, design of the Expo Bailianjing area, and architectural and environmental design of the Expo coordination area, all won first place in international competitions. It has also completed designs such as the external environment of the Shanghai Tower, Shanghai Zhangjiabang Wedge-shaped Green Space, and the public space of Lujiazui Financial City. In particular, for the winning "Shanghai World Expo Public Space Design," the Lin Xuanquan team was awarded the "Shanghai Workers' Pioneer" and "Shanghai May 1st Women's Award," and Lin Xuanquan received titles such as "Hero of Expo Construction," "Outstanding Builder of the Subsequent Construction of the Expo Park," and "2010 Shanghai Role Model."
