Wuhan University of Technology Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (formerly the Design Institute of Wuhan University of Technology before the university merger) was established in 1979 and was restructured from a state-owned enterprise to a sole proprietorship enterprise in December 2012. It is a design and research institute with a national "Class A Certificate for Architectural Engineering". In addition, the institute also holds Class A qualifications for urban planning, Class B engineering design for the building materials industry (non-metallic minerals, cement, ceramics, new building materials), Class A design qualifications for the metallurgical industry (mining (mining, mineral processing)), the municipal public industry (landscape architecture), Class A qualifications for building materials engineering consulting, consulting qualifications for environmental engineering (solid waste), Class A qualifications for municipal public engineering (water supply and drainage) consulting, and Class B qualifications for engineering surveying (having obtained CMA national metrology accreditation). It is a sole proprietorship enterprise mainly engaged in architectural engineering design and technical consulting, combining design, scientific research, and teaching.
The company has a wealth of talent, complete specialties, and strong technical strength. It currently has more than 230 engineering and technical personnel, 11 doctoral and master's supervisors, 61 senior technical personnel, and 63 intermediate technical personnel. Among them: 17 national registered architects, 22 national registered structural engineers, and 12 national registered consulting engineers. Specialties include planning, architecture, environmental art, structural engineering, municipal roads/water supply and drainage engineering, building environment engineering, electrical automation, building economics, new building materials engineering, non-metallic mineral engineering, environmental protection engineering, traffic engineering, logistics engineering, etc.
