Chongqing College of Humanities

Chongqing College of Humanities, Science & Technology, formerly known as the Yucai College of Southwest University, was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent college in March 2003 and approved by the Ministry of Education to be converted into an independent regular undergraduate institution in April 2013. It is the first private regular undergraduate institution in Chongqing approved for conversion. In 2013, the college was designated by the Ministry of Education as one of the pilot institutions for the national strategic research on application-oriented universities and is actively striving to build a nationally leading application-oriented university. The college is located in Hechuan District, Chongqing. It currently has 15 secondary schools (departments), and its undergraduate and junior college programs currently enrolling students cover 10 first-level disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and arts. The college has cooperated with ZTE Corporation to establish the ZTE College and jointly build the Ministry of Education's ICT Industry-Education Integration Innovation Base. The college has actively applied to become a cultivation unit for professional master's degrees and passed the expert review and demonstration organized by the Chongqing Academic Degrees Office. The college fully implements the Party's educational policy, deepens the reform of the talent cultivation model, and is committed to cultivating high-quality, high-level, management-savvy, business-capable, application-oriented, and technically skilled talents. In recent years, teachers and students have won hundreds of awards in various competitions at the national and municipal levels. For example, students participated in the 7th National College Student Advertising Art Competition and won the top excellence award and provincial and ministerial first prizes many times; participated in the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Contest and won the first prize in the Chongqing division many times; won the first prize in Chongqing in the 2nd Chongqing Normal Student Teaching Skills Competition; won first place in the Chongqing division in the university group of the 3rd Honda China Energy-Saving Competition; participated in the 4th National College Information Technology and Practice Activity and won the first prize in the landscape design competition; the original drama "Graduation Season," written, directed, and performed by the college itself, was the first work from Chongqing to be shortlisted for the 4th China Campus Drama Festival and won the "Outstanding Repertoire Award" in the "China Drama Award · Campus Drama Award"; the drama "Homeland," created by teachers and students, won all five major awards at the 4th Chongqing College Student Art Festival. Since its founding, the college has delivered tens of thousands of qualified talents for the country's economic construction and social development. In recent years, the employment rate of our graduates has remained above 90%. Since the college began operating, more than a thousand graduates have been admitted to graduate schools, including famous universities at home and abroad such as Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, East China Normal University, Sichuan University, Chongqing University, Southwest University, Communication University of China, Monash University in Australia, the University of Minnesota in the United States, and the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. In recent years, the college has been awarded titles such as "National Advanced Social Organization," "National Advanced Independent College," "Chongqing Advanced Collective in Private Education," "Outstanding Institution in China's Private Higher Education," "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization," and "Chongqing Model Collective for Ethnic Unity and Progress."
