In July 2006, Chongqing Sino-French Water Investment Co., Ltd. — the first Chinese-foreign investment company in the water sector in China — was officially established in Chongqing. This is also the only investment company that Sino-French Water has established in mainland China to date. The establishment of this Chinese-foreign investment company, with its registered address in Chongqing, was intended to support Chongqing's urbanization and coordinated urban-rural development, deepen cooperation methods, enhance Chongqing's water supply and drainage service capabilities, and meet local development needs in Chongqing. At the same time, it also focuses on investment opportunities in the western region, realizing the platform of "based in Chongqing, looking at the whole country, and going global."
