NGK (Suzhou) Environmental Ceramics Co., Ltd. is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise established in Suzhou New District in December 2001 with an investment of USD 116 million by NGK Insulators, Ltd., a world-leading professional ceramics enterprise from Japan.
The company produces honeycomb ceramic carriers for automotive exhaust gas purification made from cordierite (Cd) and diesel particulate filters (DPF) for diesel engine exhaust purification made from cordierite material. Mass production of a portion of the production lines began in October 2003, and mass production of cordierite honeycomb ceramic carriers and cordierite DPFs began in July 2005, with smooth deliveries to customers.
NGK Insulators, Ltd. will have cumulatively produced and sold more than 700 million honeycomb ceramic carriers across its plants in Japan, the United States, Belgium, South Africa, Indonesia, and China (NGK Suzhou).
