Canadian Solar Inc. is a solar photovoltaic enterprise founded in 2001 by Dr. Shawn Qu, a "National Distinguished Expert" recruited under China's National Thousand Talents Plan. It was successfully listed on NASDAQ in 2006, becoming the first vertically integrated photovoltaic company in China to be listed on NASDAQ (ticker: CSIQ).
