The Panasonic Group is a global electronics manufacturer (a Fortune Global 500 company, ranked seventh in the home appliance and electronics category on the 2011 list of Best Employers for College Students), engaged in the production and sales of various electrical products and other business activities.

Since 1978, the scale of Panasonic Group's business in China has been growing, with the establishment of enterprises engaged in R&D, manufacturing, sales, and services in mainland China and Hong Kong.

Suzhou Panasonic Semiconductor Co., Ltd., abbreviated as PSCSZ, is wholly owned by the Panasonic Group with a registered capital of 9.5 billion yen, established in December 2001 in Suzhou New District. Its main products are discrete semiconductors and light-emitting diodes, and it has gradually introduced many new products such as high-frequency semiconductors and compound semiconductors. The laser semiconductor project, which started production in 2006, has now captured 50% of the global market share, and the automotive camera project, also launched that year, has captured 70% of the global market share, firmly holding the world's leading position. In fiscal year 2009, sales reached 2.46 billion yuan with a growth rate of 748.3%. The number of employees has also grown from the initial 500 to nearly 4,000 today.
