Micron's first factory in China is located in Xi'an. This factory, used for testing and packaging, has experienced strong growth in local infrastructure, support and services, employee count, manufacturing equipment, capacity, products, and production efficiency.

Micron also has two R&D centers in Shanghai. One is located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Pudong, engaged in product development of parallel NOR and eMMC, and NAND design verification. The other is located in the Caohejing Development Zone, focusing on DRAM design with advanced process technology, and software development for SSD and eMMC products. The two R&D centers complement each other and provide strong support to mobile and consumer electronics manufacturers in Asia.

In addition, Micron's Shanghai Systems Engineering Lab provides tangible and real-time product development and interactive communication, helping and promoting customers to optimize their storage systems.
