Founded in 2008, dōTERRA, an American company, is one of the world's largest aromatic care and essential oil enterprises, with products including essential oils and home life products. Currently, dōTERRA's business has expanded to over 140 countries and regions globally, with more than 10 million customers and an annual revenue of nearly $3 billion. In June 2020, dōTERRA became a member of the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), being the first aromatic care and essential oil enterprise globally to join this organization. dōTERRA (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary established in China by dōTERRA, entering China in 2014. It is currently an enterprise that conducts online sales and offline experiences, exclusively dealing in dōTERRA branded products. After nearly 9 years of development, dōTERRA China has established 11 offline essential oil lifestyle stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Dalian, Nanjing, Tianjin, and Wenzhou, and has gradually built a loyal customer base of essential oil enthusiasts online. The China region is also dōTERRA's second-largest business market globally. In 2018, dōTERRA China was recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Government as a regional headquarters for multinational companies, and its first overseas R&D center was officially inaugurated in Jing'an, Shanghai on November 18, 2022.
