Nestlé (China) Ltd. is affiliated with Nestlé S.A., the world's largest food and beverage company headquartered in Switzerland. Authorized by its headquarters, Nestlé (China) Ltd. is responsible for managing operations in Greater China (i.e., Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), providing overall management support and services to the companies invested by the Group in China, including joint ventures established with domestic partners. Over 90% of Nestlé products manufactured in China are produced and sourced locally.

In addition to long-term partners Totole and Hajji, Nestlé signed joint venture agreements with leading food companies Yinlu and Hsu Fu Chi in 2011. By the end of 2012, Nestlé completed the global acquisition of Wyeth Nutrition, a leading infant nutrition brand, adding 1,500 employees and one factory to its Greater China operations.

Nestlé operates 33 advanced production facilities in China and employs approximately 50,000 people (including employees of joint ventures and Wyeth Nutrition).
