Wuhan Central Hospital

Wuhan Central Hospital was founded in 1880, located on the banks of the famous Hankou Yangtze River, beside Jianghan Road. In the blink of an eye, it has weathered 132 extraordinary years. The hospital has developed into a large modern national Grade III Class A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and prevention, and is the Affiliated Wuhan Central Hospital of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
　　The hospital currently has 1,827 employees, including more than 600 with intermediate and senior professional titles, and more than 300 with doctoral and master's degrees. It is divided into South and North campuses, with an additional Huaqiao Clinic. It covers an area of 47,529.31 m2, with a total building area of 99,870.64 m2. It has 1,720 beds, an annual outpatient and emergency volume of 1.015 million visits, and annual discharged patients of 61,000. Currently, the North Campus is constructing a new medical area with a building area of 120,000 square meters and 1,000 beds.
The hospital has advanced medical equipment and complete facilities. It possesses more than 200 large advanced medical devices, including a Philips 3.0T multi-source magnetic resonance, 64-slice spiral CT, spiral scanning whole-body CT, full-field digital mammography X-ray machine, ADAC-SPECT, digital subtraction angiography machine, 2300C/D linear accelerator, etc. Its equipment level ranks among the top in Central China.
　　The hospital has strong technical strength. It has 42 clinical medical departments and 15 medical technology departments. The Diabetes Center has been designated by the municipal government as the "Central China Diabetes Medical Center". It already has 6 provincial-level key clinical specialties: Hematology, Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Neurosurgery, and Gynecology; and more than ten municipal-level key clinical specialties including Cardiovascular Medicine, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Imaging Diagnosis, Nuclear Medicine, and Pathology. It has carried out stem cell transplantation technology, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional technology, laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery series, endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology series, etc., reaching * level.
