Amber Composites was founded in 1988 to develop and manufacture performance composite materials. The company was and still is located in the East Midlands ideally positioned to service both the UK and European markets.

Amber Composites has provided materials and technical expertise to a number of industries; these include motorsport, automotive, industrial and marine. Amber has historically been well known for its strength in composite tooling.

Amber’s success is based on the principles of developing the highest quality material, providing service that goes above and beyond the expected, and being responsive to customer needs.

In January 2013 the company was acquired by TenCate Group to reinforce its activities in thermoset based materials in the European market. Amber will operate within the TenCate Advanced Composites Group. Its base at Langley Mill will specialise in thermoset composites material manufacture and support the growing needs of the industry.

The addition of Amber to the TenCate Group will enable the composites market to have access to thermoset systems currently only produced out TCAC USA facilities. This will extend the product portfolio of Amber and establish them in new markets like aerospace, space and communications whilst reinforcing the current activities.
