State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company

State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China. Its headquarters has 23 departments, manages 28 subordinate units, and supervises 98 county-level power supply companies. The company serves 37.39 million electricity customers, the largest number in the country. In 2014, the province's total electricity consumption reached 422.3 billion kWh, ranking third in the country with a year-on-year increase of 3.44%. Electricity sales completed were 302.7 billion kWh, up 3.05% year-on-year; operating revenue was 191.2 billion yuan, up 3.67%; and total assets amounted to 163.8 billion yuan.
Shandong Power Grid has built a strong 500 kV main grid framework. Through three major transmission channels, including the Yinchuan East-Qingdao ±660 kV DC line and the 500 kV Xinliao double-circuit and Binhuang double-circuit lines, it is interconnected with the Northwest Power Grid and the North China Power Grid, with a capacity to receive external electricity of 7.5 million kW. In 2014, the Ximeng-Shandong 1000 kV UHV AC project commenced construction, ushering Shandong Power Grid into the UHV era. By the end of 2014, Shandong Power Grid boasted 5,869 substations at 35 kV and above, with a transformer capacity of 374 million kVA and transmission lines totaling 94,600 kilometers. Shandong has become one of the provinces with the most stable power supply in the country for many years.

Its comprehensive performance has consistently ranked among the top of State Grid Corporation for many years, and it has topped the province's public service industry in industry style assessment for consecutive years.
