Sinovel Wind Group Co., Ltd. (stock code: 400082) was the first specialized high-tech enterprise in China to independently develop, design, manufacture, and sell large-scale onshore, offshore, and intertidal wind turbine generators adapted to diverse global wind resources and environmental conditions. It was also the first in China to independently develop 5MW and 6MW series wind turbines. As of 2021, it had achieved a cumulative installed wind power capacity of 17,087.5 MW, including 170 MW from offshore wind and 388.5 MW from exported units.

It took the lead in introducing internationally advanced megawatt-class wind turbine technology, developed 1.5MW series wind turbines adaptable to various global wind resource and environmental conditions, and completed a robust domestic industrial chain for megawatt-class wind turbines, achieving large-scale localized production.
It pioneered the development of internationally mainstream and technologically advanced 3MW series onshore, offshore, and intertidal wind turbines with independent intellectual property rights, and put them into mass production.
It led the research, development, and production of China's first 5MW and 6MW wind turbines with independent intellectual property rights.
For the first offshore wind farm outside Europe and China's first national offshore wind demonstration project—the Shanghai Donghai Bridge Wind Farm—it supplied all 34 units of 3MW wind turbines. These units have successfully passed the warranty period, making this the first offshore wind project in China to pass 12 years of operational testing and exit warranty smoothly.
It is currently building the National Energy Offshore Wind Power Technology and Equipment R&D Center, which boasts the highest technological level, the most advanced equipment, and the strongest R&D and testing capabilities globally, as well as the world's first integrated base for large offshore wind turbine production, assembly, testing, sea transportation, and offshore installation services.
