It is engaged in integrated circuit manufacturing in Xiamen, Fujian Province, providing 12-inch wafer foundry services. The company broke ground on March 26, 2015, and began mass production in the fourth quarter of 2016, offering 40nm, 28nm, and 22nm wafer foundry services, with a planned monthly capacity of 50,000 12-inch wafers and a total estimated investment of USD 6.2 billion. In July 2023, UMC completed the share buyback of the company, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary.
